Action
Earth
Action Earth provides grants of up to £50 to assist
groups in carrying out environmental projects. Projects
must take place before 30 June 2006.
Barclays
Scottish
Natural Heritage
Grants are available to protect and improve Scotland’s
natural heritage and to help people understand, enjoy and care for it. No
deadlines (if applying for under £10,000), otherwise apply by 15 April or
1 September each year.
Biffaward
Biffaward offers grants of up to £50,000 (plus occasional
flagship grants of up to £500,000) to projects that enable communities to
improve local amenities and to conserve wildlife and habitats.
Communities Scotland “Wider Role”
£3m is available each year in Glasgow to assist Registered
Social Landlords (RSLs) such as housing associations to develop projects that
improve the economic, social and environmental circumstances of the local
communities within which RSLs operate.
Community Environmental Renewal Scheme
The Community Environmental Renewal Scheme (CERS) offers
support for projects that will improve the local environment of communities
affected by quarrying. CERS offers grants of up to £50,000 to projects that
involve the local community and can demonstrate local social or economic benefits.
The next and final deadline for applying is 26 April 2006.
Esmée
Fairbairn Foundation
The Foundation’s Environment programme wishes to promote
environmental improvements that balance the needs of people and wildlife.
Key priorities are UK biodiversity, low carbon economy and sustainable food
systems.
Forward-Scotland
Forward Scotland offers around £7m in grants to Scottish
community groups each year, including administering grants through the Landfill
Tax Credit Scheme on behalf of Patersons Quarries to organisations in south
east Glasgow and environs.
Hanson Environment
Fund
Funding of up to £25,000 is available through the Landfill
Tax Credit Scheme to support environmental and community initiatives within
5 miles of a Hanson operation.
INCREASE Programme
INCREASE stands for INvestment in Community REcycling
And Social Enterprise. It is a Scottish Executive grants programme to support
community-based recycling projects in Scotland with small grants (£5,000 to
£30,000) and larger, more strategic grants (£30,000 to £200,000).
J Paul Getty Jr Charitable Trust
Limited funds are available for gardens and historic
landscape.
Polden-Puckham Charitable Foundation
The Foundation aims to address the causes of global
ecological damage rather than its symptoms.
